Peace On Earth
Hello friends,
On this day before Christmas, I have not a moment to write something interesting, smart, or funny–but I’m at peace with that. Â My whole family is here and so writing seems less important than just hanging out, taking long walks through our festive neighborhood with my mom, baking cookies with my sisters, or singing Christmas carols with the kids. Â But I did want to wish you the joy of this special season and a happy, healthy 2013. Â 2012 certainly brought its challenges, but as this year draws to a close, I can’t help but feel very, very blessed. Â My mom continues to be a brave and graceful warrior in her cancer fight and my children are daily reminders that there is humor and beauty to be found in each day–no matter how tough things get.

Whenever I see an entry from Walking Papers, my heart freezes for a moment while I evaluate the heading: What’s the news? Is Gabriele better, worse or the same? (Scratch that last question–she’s never the same. That’s what makes her such a compelling personality.) To open today to a photo of the two of you, mother and daughter, gorgeous and radiant, was the very best of Christmas gifts. Your love for one another spills out from Walking Papers to the whole world, healing and offering hope to this painful planet.
