To build a perfect snowman, first find a pristine field of snow–unmarked by man or animal.
Next, rustle up four imaginations not jaded by time, sadness, disappointment, or responsibility.
Then let them run wild and watch the magic happen..
- Voila!
Help hoist a 50 pound head when little hands can’t (Frosty ain’t got nuthin’ on this big boy!)…
…and don’t look at your iPhone, think about a loved one who is suffering, or muse about everything you need to accomplish next week, next month, next year.
To really build the perfect snowman, you must act like a kid again, taking breaks only for snow angels and snowball fights.
And when you’re done, find peace in the fact that your perfect snowmen won’t stick around long, but the memories of making them will last a lifetime.

The creation of a snowman never loses it’s magic! Lovely photos also!
“… you must act like a kid again…” this is an useful suggestion, to only when we build a snow man …

PS: almost forgetting, of course Buon Anno !
One of your best and most beautiful pieces. Full of truths. Thank you!
Wise and wonderful, Suzanne.
Beautiful. Where is that?
Deanna, it is in GRK Valley!
Suz–I am so happy it worked out that you could come. And I KNOW why you guys abandoned ship a day early! You would be STUCK STUCK STUCK up there, like Hans and I were for ten days once under 16 feet of snow, without anything except a case of canned green beans, and some very old, tired potatoes. We had planned to eat the puppy………..
But that’s another story.
Those snowmen are the most imaginative I have ever seen.
Yes, I read between the lines. Love, Tante Heide
Wonderful. I didn’t know you got snow like that in California. Thanks to global warming, looks like you have more than we’ve had all year in formerly snowy Michigan.
Aah, Suzi, what heavenly pictures from the snow paradise GRK Valley. And the kids look ecstatic producing those smiling snowmen. I’m so happy you took the kids up and were rewarded with those sunny days. Tomorrow your sweet Mom will be in our thoughts – all day. Love, Tante Trauti
